High Heels For An Irish Summer
July 6, 2007 (9 Responses)
IT’S BEEN RAINING here in Ireland for at least the last 40 days and nights, on and off every day seemingly without end.
Dull and black thunderous skies, cold chilling winds, horizantal rain, the odd bit of actual thunder and lightening… we’ve had it all in recent weeks.
In fact I think it’s even been longer than the 40 days and while I’m not usually given to biblical references I’d have to say at this point that I wouldn’t be that surprised if Noah and his sodding Ark came floating by any time now.
This is supposed to be summer after all, right?
Right?
Still - I can’t see your average Irish colleen walking around Grafton street in these creations… although it would be fun watching them try wouldn’t it?
Many thanks to MaryMac for sending this little gem on to me and cheering up an otherwise dull and rainy Friday.

Doesn’t it always rain in Ireland?
Not always, only about 13 months of every year
High fashion flippers. How cute! (??) How could you not laugh your ass off if you ever saw someone actually sporting a pair??
I love Irish ingenuity! Funny!!
Hey…just wanted to say that an Irish “Colleen” should be written as an Irish Cailín - as in the Irish word for girl… It is reminding me of Americans I met once who thought the last line of the National Anthem was “Shove the Cailín around the green” - try singin it, it fits. Anyways hope you dont think me an obnoxious ass for leaving this comment but just wanted to share. Loving your writings. Jeims.
does someone know where to get this high-tide-heels…?
cheers,
Flex
Sorry Flex - can’t help you with that one. I just got this image in my mailbox and decided to run with it. No idea about its origins or even if such shoes exist. you could try looking up the brand name on the boxes ‘high tide heels’ for a laugh
