You are hereby notified, pursuant to section 4 of the Road Traffic Act 2002, that the 2 penalty points endorsed on the entry in the license record relating to your following payment of a fixed charge in respect of an alleged offence of exceeding 50 mph (Dublin) which occurred on the 11th January 2004, have been removed.
Total penalty points now on your record: 0
WOOHOO!
Finally I’ve managed to get rid of those pesky penalty points for doing unmentionable speeds out on the Lucan road at 2am a few years ago. Still, you would think they could just send a letter with the last line on it (e.g. Total penalty points: 0) instead of all the mumbo jumbo above, but I’m not complaining ’cause my insurance is up for renewal in a month so the timing is perfect!
Come to think of it, SusiQ must be in for a few of these letters soon as well; she still has 6 points on her license… and all for driving a Smart car beyond the limit!
