I’ve Discovered My First Superhero Ability!!

March 2, 2007 (2 Responses)

Dark HeroMOST OF THE TIME I tend to ignore these online personality tests and “which star wars character am I?” style surveys, but when reading over a previous post on the site I found a link (via Google Adsense) to an online site called Personality100.com and for some reason I just decided to check it out.

There is a very quick personality profile test to be had here; approximately 4 pages of questions which you can get through in less than 10 minutes, comprised of texts, graphics and some image related questions.  I had the time to kill so I went ahead and was then presented with a summary of who I really am. What you get of course is a cut-down version of a full report, but it’s interesting enough to get a feel for how you have been evaluated.

Apparently I’m superhero material – but then aren’t we all?

It’s a weird thing actually, meeting yourself online, but for the hell of it let me introduce you to … well me actually, and it seems I have a new superhero power…

Key Areas of your Personality

Your personality stands out from the average person’s particularly in the areas of:

  • Your High Curiosity Level
  • Your Low Distractibility
  • Your High Need for Variety
  • Your High Assertiveness Level

Your personality is made up of a unique pattern of traits. These traits impact the way you think, feel, and behave on an everyday basis. In your report you will read a detailed explanation of each of your core personality traits, including your strengths and challenge points.

Your Interaction Style:

You scored 80 in the area of extroversion/ introversion, which means that your energy is directed primarily outward – towards other people and things- rather than inward. You gain energy, rather than lose energy, by moving and interacting. It is essential that your work environment matches your extroversion/ introversion tendency, otherwise you won’t feel happy.

Social patterns:

You are left-brained when it comes to interacting with people and recognizing emotions in other people. What does this mean? Since there is a ‘cross-over’ in the human brain for visual information, it means that you tend to focus on the right side of a person’s face when you want to figure out what they are thinking and feeling.

This is a unique way of viewing the world.

You are likely to be sensitive to ‘micro-expressions’ – the tiny movements of the muscles in the face that occur, for example, when someone is telling a lie.

Woohoo! – I’m a walking lie detector; superhero powers at last ;)

Feel free to take this free test yourself and let me know what it says about you; I’d be interested to see if it’s accurate or not… and of course make the acquaintence of some other potential superheroes in the process. Let’s face it, someone has to save the world from Bush & Co. :)

Update @ 4th March: Once you take this test they email you the first one or two chapters of a 100 page personality profile and then ask if you want to purchase the full report. Here’s a tip. Don’t purchase at that point, because if you want a few days they then send you an email with a 67% discount, meaning you can get your report for under $10 if you want to. I’m happy enough with the summary information I received, but just in case you want to see the full monty on this, give it a few days after your test before purchasing, you will get a better deal!
