Microsoft Patches 23 Vulnerabilities For August

August 9, 2006 (No Responses)

Microsoft Security UpdatesNO MONTH WOULD BE COMPLETE without some amount of security patches from Microsoft, but this month seems to be a bit special. The Beast of Redmond today released patches for nearly two dozen security flaws in its Windows operating system and associated Office suite of products.

The full list of 12 updates (containing the patches) is available online for review, however the key point about this latest set of downloads is that Microsoft claim at least 17 of the 23 flaws could be exploited by attackers to hijack vulnerable systems or to install malicious code, the company warned. As usual there is also a bunch of Internet Explorer updates in there too.

The updates can be access via Microsoft Update using your browser or via Automatic Updates, so get downloading and make sure your security is up to date.
