A Typically Microsoft Moment

I’ve created another new category here at Howl @ The Moon! called Moments… for those special moments that only ever come along every now and then which deserve to be captured for posterity
I’m kicking this section off with a lovely transcript from the Microsoft Antitrust Trial. I know I’ve been guilty of referring to some of the Microsoft stormtroopers as ‘drones’ before, but this transcript kind of reinforces that position I reckon. It’s not doctored, edited or changed in any way… what you are about to read is an excerpt from the Trial and records an actual interchange between Bill Gates and the Government Attorney. Bill was being his usual helpful self. Enjoy
Great Moments in the Microsoft Antitrust Trial
Bill Gates: “No, I didn’t type that”
Government Attorney: “Who typed in HIGH?”
Bill Gates: “A Computer. It’s an attribute of the email”
Government Attorney: “And who set the attribute of this email?”
Bill Gates: “Usually the sender sends that attribute”
Government Attorney: “Who is the sender here, Mr. Gates?”
Bill Gates: “In this case it appears I’m the sender”
Government Attorney: “And so you’re the one who set the HIGH designation of Important, right, sir?”
Bill Gates: “It appears that I did”

Oh for Pete’s sake!
Well he didn’t actually TYPE the word high…so I suppose ermm…. yeah if you listen to lawyers long enough you’d begin to think you were right in the first place. A fine example of Bill listening up in class when the lawers told him to filibuster everything!
